Run ODXQUERY

ODXQUERY

Omnidex Query (ODXQUERY) is a Windows based tool that allows the querying and updating of data using either an automatic prompting screen or an SQL interface. Data returned from either interface can be exported to an external file for further analysis.

The ODXQUERY executable is located in the default odxclnt program group. The Omnidex Client installation wizard creates an icon labeled OMNIDEX Query for the ODXQUERY utility.

 

Run ODXQUERY

To run ODXQUERY, click the ODXQUERY icon in the Omnidex Client program group.

Click Connect and then:

  • Select the Data Source type to connect toShow Me
  • Select from a list of Recent ConnectionsShow Me

Once you are connected, select the action you would like to perform:Show Me

  • Query
  • Insert
  • Import
  • Info
  • SQL

 

Data Source Type

Choose the type of data source to connect to. The choices are as follows:

ODBC File DataSource -- This is an Omnidex physical file datasource created with DataSource Editor, that resides on the client. The file extension for this type of datasource is generally .dsn.

ODBC Machine DataSource -- This is an Omnidex datasource created with DataSource Editor, that exists as a registry on the client. Also known as an ODBC User DataSource and ODBC System DataSource.

OmniAccess Client DataSource File -- This is an Omnidex physical file datasource created with DataSource Editor, that resides on the client. This type of datasource is used by applications that use the OmniAccess API or the OmniAccess Objects but not ODBC. The file extension for this type of datasource is generally .ini.

OmniAccess Server Environment File -- This is an Omnidex Environment Catalog that exists on the same machine as Omnidex Client. This connection does not use Omnidex Network Services.

Connect to another data source.
