Check the Server

DSEDIT allows you to ping the server to see if an OdxNet listener is running.

  • Screen ShotWhile creating a new data source, click the Check Server button after entering the server information. DSEDIT will check to see if the specified listener port number is running on the specified server.
  • Screen ShotWhile editing an existing data source, click the Check Server button. DSEDIT will check to see if the specified listener port number is running on the specified server.

Screen ShotCheck a Range of Listener Port Numbers

When in the DSEDIT Main Menu, the Tools menu item at the top of the screen contains the menu option "Test Omnidex Network Services". This option allows you to check if one or more OdxNet listeners is running on the server.

Enter the host name or IP address, then enter a listener port number in the "Beginning Port Number" text box. To search for a range of listener port numbers, enter a port number greater than the beginning port number. Be aware that the more port number in the range, the longer the search will take.

Click Test to begin searching for the specified port numbers.
