Omnidex Standalone Tables are full-featured and flexible, and have few limitations. Fixed-length files may provide higher performance if they do not have large textual columns, and delimited files may be more common, but Omnidex Standalone Tables represent the best features of both of these types. The primary limitation is security, and it is described below:

• Security - Omnidex Standalone Tables are not encrypted as they might be in a relational database. Care should be taken with file system security to properly protect the data.
